PROPERTY MARKET IN PORTUGAL – NATIONAL REPORT 2016

MARKET/BANK EVALUATION DECEMBER 2015

Residential Bank evaluation values allow us to observe market tendencies specifically credit bank evaluation.  On a monthly basis the National Institute of Statistics analyses and distributes the latest statistics to all its members, via APEMIP.  According to INE the banks’ residential average evaluation was 1.043m2 which shows an increase of 2€uros m2 (0.2%) in comparison with the previous month’s value.  On a national level the residential average evaluation value is between 671m2 – 1,707m2 with the Algarve showing the highest average of 1,302m2.

HOUSE/APARTMENT

Between  October 2015 and November 2015 houses / villas showed an average increase of 0.4% and apartments did not show any increase.

GLOBAL PROPERTY MARKET

2016 is looking very bright in many property markets and in many sectors, however of course there are exceptions including Brazil.  China is also a bit of a question mark as the world’s stock markets respond to a slow down in general of the Chinese economy.  Read key forecasts here.
